- Eludicating the molecular mechanisms that regulate the interaction between airway epithelial cells and exposure to environmental insults (i.e., TCDD and tobacco smoke)
- How environmental agents affect host defense mechanisms, especially airway secretion and infection, that relates to pulmonary disease.
- Development of new potential biomarkers for early detection of pre-neoplastic lesions that are caused by environmental exposure
- Development of novel treatment strategies against toxicant-induced respiratory pathogenesis
