The central and goal of the Cystic Fibrosis Research Center (CFRC) at the University of Pittsburgh is to understand the basic mechanisms of CF disease and translate that understanding to provide improved treatments that will enhance the quality of life and lifespan of CF patients. Our strategy is to implement this goal using the Center's strengths in the Molecular and Cell Biology of CFTR, CFTR mutants and other transporters, Infection and Inflammation, with the overall theme of translating our preclinical science discoveries into clinical investigations.
